April 25 Create – “Staycation”!
When we think of vacation time, we usually think of getting away from it all and exploring a completely new place. However, there is a lot of stress in planning a trip. Indeed, most of the families are packing up the car and hitting the traffic-laden highways, but some choose to stay and take the time to enjoy their home.
Often a quieter time of year in the larger cities, the festive season can be the perfect time to have a fuss-free, relaxed break in your own abode – a STAYCATION.
Adding a few essentials can create an extra-special summer vibe to your home, and instead of rushing around packing the car, kids and cat, you can sit back and enjoy your own slice of paradise.
- Stock the fridge with your favorite cocktail ingredients and scrub the BBQ so it is ready to go at anytime.
- Have a stack of games, movies and magazines on hand.
- Ditch the car keys and explore your neighborhood – research local walks, beaches and ferry rides.
- Pack a picnic and seek out a perfect spot or tie up a hammock as a relaxing space.
At the end of the day, Staycations provide an opportunity to take time out, reconnect with your home, and your community.
